I didn’t start out as a therapist. I started as a teacher; language, stories and that moment when someone suddenly gets it have always been my thing. For years I taught English to teens, young adults and adult learners. Later I added Dutch as well, and found I loved helping people find the right words; not just for exams or work, but for who they are and what they need.
Then I hit a wall. A serious burnout forced me to slow down and ask a question I’d been avoiding: what do I actually want my life to feel like? That turning point brought me into therapy; first as someone doing the work myself and later as someone choosing it as my profession. I trained in a wide range of approaches, and I’ve been working as a therapist since 2016.
Today, I combine both worlds. I run my own practice and I also teach at a vocational college (MBO). I’m queer, neurodivergent and I speak both Dutch and English at native level, so you’re welcome to speak whichever language feels most natural, or to move between the two.
Outside of work, I’m a parent to a primary school child, a creative at heart and a big believer in fresh perspectives. I love music, drawing, organising events and long walks in the woods; walking is often where everything starts to make sense again.
